Affordable web design Darwin small businesses can afford without cutting corners
Affordable web design Darwin operators can rely on means a proper website at a fixed price, with no monthly contract and no surprise invoices. My sites start at $880 including GST.
What you should still get at a lower price
There is always someone cheaper. The trouble is that very cheap websites often come with a catch. A site you can never edit, a contract that runs for years, a template that looks like a hundred others or a builder who disappears after launch.
Affordable should mean fair value. A site that looks professional, works properly on a phone, is set up for Google and belongs to you. It should be priced up front so you can plan around it.
I keep my prices down by working on my own with no office overheads or sales team to fund. I build on WordPress, which is free software. I also reuse proven layouts behind the scenes so I am not reinventing the wheel for every page. The savings are passed on to you.
All prices include GST
Each package comes with a mobile friendly design, contact form, Google Map, Google Analytics, full editing access and a free first year of maintenance. Domain and hosting are the only extras.

Small choices that make a real difference
The biggest saving is usually starting smaller. A one page site can carry a new business for its first year and be expanded once work picks up. Nothing gets thrown away when you upgrade.
Having your content ready helps too. If you can write a few lines about each service and take some decent photos of your work on your phone, the build moves faster. Real photos of your team and jobs around the Top End also look far better than stock images.
Common situations I see
Just got the ABN and the ute sign written. Need somewhere to send people from a quote or a business card.
Tour operators and dry season traders who need a clean site that explains what they do and when.
A weekend market stall or small service run alongside a full time job.
Running everything through a Facebook page and ready for a real website. See Facebook to website.
The ongoing costs, laid out honestly
After the build there are three ongoing costs to know about. Your domain name renews every year or two. Hosting is a yearly fee and I can set that up for you on fast website hosting. Maintenance is free for the first year, then optional from $19 a month on my updates and support plans.
None of these are compulsory with me. You can host anywhere, do updates yourself or leave at any time. My article on how much a website costs in Darwin goes through the numbers in more detail.

Website Design Darwin, run by Nick Fritzkowski, does affordable web design for small businesses in Darwin and the wider Top End. Prices are fixed and published, starting at $880, and there are no lock in contracts or monthly fees required to keep the site.
An affordable Darwin website from me has no compulsory monthly fee to the designer. You pay for your domain and hosting. After the free first year you can choose a maintenance plan from $19 a month or handle updates yourself.
An $880 website is good enough for many Palmerston tradies starting out. One well written page with services, service areas, photos and a contact form will win work. As the business grows, separate service pages help you rank for more searches.
A one page site can be upgraded to a full website later without starting again. I add new pages to the same WordPress install and keep your existing design, so you only pay the difference in work rather than a whole new build.
Some Darwin websites are advertised for less than $880 because they come with a long monthly contract, a locked template or no editing access. Check who owns the site and the domain. Also ask what happens if you stop paying, before you sign up.
A free website builder can work for a Northern Territory business for a short while, but most have limits on Google visibility, custom domains and ownership. If you outgrow one, moving to WordPress usually means rebuilding anyway, so starting on WordPress can save money later.
