Website Redesign Darwin

A fresh, faster site without losing what already works

A website redesign Darwin customers notice keeps your best content and Google rankings while fixing the parts that hold you back. I rebuild old sites on modern WordPress with care.

When an Old Site Starts Costing You Work

Most people know before they ask

Websites age faster than shopfronts. A site built eight years ago might still technically work, but it was probably designed for desktop screens, runs on old software and talks about services you no longer offer. Visitors notice, even if they never tell you.

The cost is hard to see because it shows up as phone calls that never happen. Someone new to Darwin searches for your service, clicks your site, squints at a tiny menu on their phone and goes back to try the next result.

A redesign fixes that without throwing away the good parts. The pages that already rank, the reviews people link to and the content that answers real questions can all be carried across into a cleaner, quicker site.

Signs It Is Time for a Redesign

If two or more sound familiar, it is worth a chat

Hard to use on a phone

Text is tiny, buttons are cramped or visitors have to pinch and zoom to read anything.

Slow to load

Pages take several seconds to appear, which is worse on rural reception outside the city.

You cannot edit it

Every small change needs a developer. Or nobody remembers the login any more.

Out of date content

Old services, old staff photos, an old phone number or a price list from years ago.

Security warnings

Browsers show a not secure message or the site has been hacked before.

No enquiries coming through

Traffic is there but the contact form stays quiet, so something is putting people off.

Keeping Your Google Rankings Safe

The part of a redesign that gets skipped

The biggest risk in any website redesign is losing search traffic you already have. If page addresses change and nobody tells Google, old links break and rankings can drop for months.

Before I touch anything I take a full list of your current pages and check which ones bring visitors in through Google Search Console and Analytics. Every old address that matters gets a 301 redirect to its new home so Google and your visitors follow along.

I also keep the wording that already ranks unless there is a good reason to change it. Updating a page is fine. Deleting the paragraph that has been bringing in work for three years is not.

How I Handle a Redesign

Your current site stays live until the new one is ready

There is no downtime. Customers keep using the old site while the new one is built behind the scenes.

1

Review the old site

I go through your current pages, traffic and enquiry forms to see what is working and what is not.

2

Plan the new structure

You and I agree on the pages to keep, merge, add or drop and I map every old address to a new one.

3

Rebuild on staging

The new site is built on a private link using WordPress and Elementor, with your content refreshed.

4

Switch over cleanly

Redirects go in, the domain points to the new site and I watch Search Console for any problems.

Moving Off Wix, Squarespace or an Old Builder

Bringing your site into something you own

A lot of redesign work is really a platform move. Plenty of Darwin businesses started on Wix, Squarespace or a builder bundled with their domain and later found the limits. Monthly fees climb, editing gets fiddly or the site simply cannot do what the business now needs.

I rebuild those sites on WordPress, which you control fully and can host wherever you like. Content, images and page addresses come across with redirects in place. There is more on the differences in my WordPress vs Wix vs Squarespace article.

If your current site is also slow or has been compromised, the move is a good time to clean that up. See hacked website repair if security is the main worry.

Website Redesign Questions

What Darwin clients ask before a rebuild

Can’t see your question here? Give me a call or send a message and I’ll get back to you within one business day.

How much does a website redesign cost in Darwin?

A website redesign in Darwin with Website Design Darwin is priced the same as a new site, from $880 for a single page up to $2200 for a full multi page site. Bigger sites with shops or bookings start at $3300. You get a fixed quote after I review your current site.

A redesign of your Darwin website should not lose Google rankings if it is handled carefully. I keep content that ranks, redirect every changed page address and check Search Console after launch.

I redesign websites for Top End businesses without any downtime. The new site is built on a private staging link while your current site stays live. When everything is approved I switch the domain over, which usually takes minutes.

Nick Fritzkowski at Website Design Darwin moves Darwin business websites off Wix, Squarespace and other builders onto WordPress. He carries the content across, sets up redirects and hands you full ownership so you are no longer tied to a monthly platform fee.

An old Darwin business website with good content and steady traffic is usually worth redesigning rather than replacing outright. If the site is tiny, gets no visits or is badly hacked, a new website from scratch is often quicker. I will tell you which makes sense after a look.

Your Palmerston website keeps its existing domain name through a redesign. Keeping the same domain is part of protecting your Google rankings. Email addresses on that domain carry on working too. I just point the domain at the new site on launch day.

A website redesign for a Northern Territory business typically takes three to five weeks. The review and redirect planning add a little time compared with a brand new site, but that groundwork is what protects your existing search traffic.
